TASHKENT, June 29 — Sputnik. Qanot Sharq has launched flights between St. Petersburg and Bukhara, RIA Novosti reports.
In early June, it was noted that the authorities of Russia and Uzbekistan decided to increase the frequency of flights on the Moscow — Tashkent route from 25 to 39 flights per week.
"Today, on June 28, the airline Qanot Sharq launched regular direct flights to Bukhara from Pulkovo Airport. According to the schedule, it is possible to fly from St. Petersburg on the route on Tuesdays," the company said.
Qanot Sharq uses Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of up to 174 passengers.
It is noted that Bukhara is one of the most ancient cities of Central Asia, where caravans of the Great Silk Road passed many centuries ago. In modern Bukhara, you can see more than 140 architectural monuments. Among them are the mausoleum of the Samanids, which recently celebrated its millennium, the Kosh Madrasah and the Poi-Kalyan complex, whose history dates back about 2,300 years.
